Mindful Movement Centre Teacher Training Program

The Mindful Movement Centre offers a Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program that is designed to equip aspiring Pilates teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach Pilates to clients of all people equitably regardless of their race, national origin, colour, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

The program is based on current research to ensure that students receive the latest information and techniques in Pilates instruction.

The program is inclusive and considers the needs of diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, chronic pain, and injuries. It includes a focus on evidence-based practices, ensuring that students are equipped with the latest research and techniques to promote optimal health and wellness.

Throughout the program, students will have access to experienced instructors and a supportive community of peers.The training is delivered through a combination of online modules, in-person workshops, and mentorship, providing a flexible and supportive learning environment.

The program includes both theoretical and practical training, covering topics such as anatomy, biomechanics, postural analysis, Pilates exercises, cueing techniques, class programming, and teaching methodology. 

Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by observing and teaching Pilates classes, and will receive feedback and guidance from experienced instructors. Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to design and teach safe and effective Pilates classes to a variety of clients, including those with injuries or special conditions.

The training also covers the principles of effective communication and teaching, including how to build rapport with clients, how to provide feedback and encouragement, and how to create a positive and motivating atmosphere in the studio. Students will also learn how to develop how to manage client relationships, how to create effective troubleshooting strategies for working with different client types, and how to manage finances and other business aspects.

The program is open to individuals with varying levels of experience, from those with no previous Pilates experience to those with an existing Pilates certification. The Mindful Movement Centre emphasizes the importance of ongoing education and encourages graduates to continue their professional development by attending workshops and conferences and staying up-to-date with the latest research in the field.

Policies and Procedures: 

Recruitment Policy for our Pilates Teacher Training Program:

We are seeking applicants for our Pilates teacher training program who have a minimum of two years of Pilates experience and a focus on helping people through movement. For Reformer Training, applicants must have completed a mat Pilatees training with Mindful Movement Centre or with another recognised training centre. CCB applicants must have completed a mat Pilates and reformer training with Mindful Movement Centre or with another recognised training centre.

Our ideal candidates are nurturing and caring, with a biomechanical and functional movement focus.

The interview process will be conducted to evaluate each candidate's alignment with our values and goals. We place a special emphasis on modification in our training program, with modules on client pain, injury, and recovery woven throughout the curriculum to ensure that our graduates can respond constructively to any injury, disorder, or contraindication.

We teach compassion in our classes, and our graduates praise the supportive environment we foster. We aim to lead by example, demonstrating how to hold space for our clients and respond to injuries and psychological influences with sensitivity.

Refund Policy for Mindful Movment Centre Pilates Teacher Training Programs :

We at the Mindful Movement Centre strive to provide our students with the highest quality education and support. We are committed to ensuring that our comprehensive Pilates teacher training program meets the needs and expectations of our students. However, we understand that sometimes circumstances can arise that may prevent a student from completing the program or continuing with their Pilates education. To address these situations, we have established the following refund policy:

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Mindful Movement Centre's administration office.

  • If a student withdraws from the program within seven days of registration and before the program start date, they will receive a full refund of any tuition paid minus the $600 administration fee. 

  • If a student withdraws from the program after the program start date but before the end of the first week, they will receive a refund of 50% of any tuition paid.

  • If a student withdraws from the program after the first week, no refund will be issued.

  • In exceptional circumstances, such as illness or injury, the Mindful Movement Centre may offer a partial refund or credit towards a future program.

  • If the Mindful Movement Centre cancels the program, students will receive a full refund of any tuition paid.

  • All refunds will be processed within 30 days of receiving the written request.

Please note that any applicable fees for materials, textbooks, or other supplies are non-refundable. The Mindful Movement Centre reserves the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to students in writing. By enrolling in any of our Pilates teacher training programs at the Mindful Movement Centre, students agree to abide by the terms of this refund policy. Private Pilates Teacher Training Policy:

At the Mindful Movement Centre, we offer private Pilates teacher training to individuals who are interested in becoming certified Pilates instructors. Our private training program is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach Pilates to clients of all levels. Private training can be completed at the participant’s timeframe and consists of 70% of the hours of the regularly scheduled group training. Private training can be utilized for exam preparation or as make-up time for missed group sessions.

Training Requirements:

To participate in our private Pilates teacher training program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a good understanding of Pilates principles and techniques.

  • Have a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

  • Have a positive attitude and be willing to work hard to achieve their goals.

  • Completed recruitment interview and questionnaire.

Training Process:

Our private Pilates teacher training program is led by a Master Teacher Trainer or Lead Instructor who has extensive experience teaching Pilates. The program includes the same material and evidence structure that the group training offers in a reduced time frame that works for the individual. 

Training Fees:

The hourly rate for private Pilates Teacher Training at the Mindful Movement Centre is $100. This fee includes one-on-one instruction, observation and teaching practice, assessment, participation, and feedback with a Pilates Master teacher or Pilates lead instructor.  Additional $300 for required manuals, $275 for Functional Anatomy Module + $150 for exams.

Private Training Cancellation and Refund Policy

If a student needs to cancel or reschedule a scheduled training session, they must provide at least 72 hours' notice. If a student cancels without providing sufficient notice, they will be charged the full hourly rate for the missed session.

If a student decides to withdraw from the private Pilates teacher training program, they may be eligible for a partial refund. The refund amount will depend on the number of training sessions that have been completed and the reason for the withdrawal.
