STUDIO ETIQUETTE

We strive to make the Mindful Movement Centre a clean and welcoming space for all. The studio is founded on a deep respect for the practices we teach and for the students and instructors who make up our community. Please follow these simple guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone:

    • Please arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled class to sign in, take a sip of water, and settle in.

    • We encourage you to sign up for classes online to secure your spot. We would hate to turn you away after you’ve made your way to the studio just because a class is full. Maximum attendance is 8-9 our group classes.

    • Please refrain from using a mobile device inside the studios.

    • Please keep your voices low so as not to disturb ongoing classes or private sessions.

    • Please clean up after yourself: clean & return props neatly to their proper places, ready for use by the next set of students.

    • Please familiarize yourself with the studio’s cancellation and class expiration policies. They will be strictly enforced.

    • Please leave your shoes in the designated area by the entryway. No shoes are allowed beyond the studio staircase.

    • Sticky Socks are required for all group classes & private sessions for safety & sanitary reasons.

    • Pilates should not be practiced on a full stomach, and you will do better if you arrive to class well hydrated.

    • Please refrain from using strongly scented products in the studio.

    • Classes begin promptly and latecomers will not be admitted for those arriving more than 10 minutes after the class has started. This policy helps us ensure that all attendees receive the full benefits of the class without disruption.

    • If you need to leave early, please inform the teacher beforehand, choose a spot closest to the door, and leave quietly, causing the least disruption possible.

    • Please turn off your phones upon entering the studio.

    • If you are new to the practice or studio, or if you are dealing with an injury or any other limitation, please advise the teacher before the beginning of class. We will do our best to accommodate and help throughout the class.

    • If you do not wish to receive any hands-on adjustments during class, please let the teacher know beforehand.

    • Please be mindful of your fellow students.

    • Respect your body: challenge yourself, but go at your own pace and rest if you need to.
