NEW STUDENTS
Welcome to Mindful Movement Centre! With both one-on-one and small group reformer based Pilates classes, we aim to help people move to feel better in all ways of life.
We can help guide you in connecting back to your body, discovering your strength and feeling empowered, and awakening yourself to this new way of living.
Our teachers are some of the most highly trained in the city so rest assured you will be in good hands whether you are looking to attend group classes or one on one private sessions. We have a fantastic New Student Private or Group Session package to get you set up on the best foot forward!
GETTING STARTED
New to Pilates? Returning back after a long hiatus? We highly suggest that all new students begin with one-on-one sessions. You will have a chance to get acquainted with how to properly use the equipment, get a uniquely tailored workout catered to your body's needs, and after the session receive a detailed assessment and an informed recommendation on what classes will be best suited to you!

We recommend wearing form-fitting, easy to move in clothing that you feel comfortable in. We also ask that all clients wear sticky/grip socks for that added support. If you don’t own a pair, we sell plenty of fun ones in a variety of colours at our reception desk for $20 +tax! Other than that, just bring yourself, some water and a smile! :)

Our studio is located in the heart of Yorkville, Toronto. You can find us at the Northwest side corner of Bay and Scollard Street. The entrance to our studio is located on the 2nd floor of 68 Scollard Street. To get inside, enter through the glass door on the left side of the stairs with the Mindful Movement Centre sign.
The best parking near our studio is the Green P underground parking lot on the west side of Bay Street and Yorkville Ave. If you have time before your session, we suggest using the Yorkville Village Underground Parking (entrance located on Avenue Road, just north of Yorkville Ave.) If you do a little bit of shopping at the Whole Foods and spend $20 or more, you receive free parking for 90 minutes!

On your first visit, we recommend coming at least 15 minutes early to give yourself time to find parking if you are driving, get yourself acquainted with the space and get to know your instructor :) On subsequent visits, please arrive 5 minutes early as classes begin promptly and latecomers will be admitted in exceptional cases only.

Our group classes are limited to a small group of just 8-9 people to ensure that every body in the room feels comfortable, safe and taken care of.

Of course!! All of our instructors are highly trained and well versed in different injuries and special populations. Please let the instructor know before the start of your session or class and they will provide special modifications so that you will get the most out of your session. We highly recommend however, to start off with one-on-one sessions so that we can properly assess your injury and provide your with recommendations for the best options (whether it be a specific class or private session) for your own needs.

Absolutely!! Pilates is a fantastic workout for all levels and abilities that focuses on both strengthening and stretching. If you are looking to improve on your overall flexibility, you have come to the right place :)

Sessions may be cancelled online, or by emailing hello@mindfulmovementcentre.com or giving us a call at (647) 250-7205 at least 24 hours in advance for private sessions and group classes.
*If clients cancel their session within the late cancellation window, they will be charged for their session. (This excludes emergency situations or if a client is showing symptoms of Covid).
